पोखरण: सेना के जवानों और पुलिसकर्मियों के बीच छिड़ी 'जंग', ताबड़तोड़ बरसाई लाठियां

जयपुर/चंद्रशेखर दवे: परमाणु नगरी पोखरण में सोमवार (23 अप्रैल) को अजीब नजारा देखने को मिला जब आम जन की सुरक्षा व कानून का पालन करने वालों ने कानून को हाथ में लेकर एक-दूसरे को मरने-मारने पर उतारू हो गए. नजारा था पुलिस व सेना के जवानों के बीच लाठी भाटा जंग का. सेना के जवान व पुलिस मामूली बात को लेकर आमने-सामने हो गए, जिससे क्षेत्र में अफरा-तफरी का माहौल व्याप्त हो गया. इतना ही नहीं दोनों में आपस हुई भिड़ंत को लेकर लोगों में दहशत फैल गई. वहीं पुलिसकर्मियों ने 3 सेना के जवानों हिरासत में लेकर भाग कर अपनी जान बचाई. इसके साथ ही पुलिस थाने पहुंचने के बाद पुलिस थाने का गेट बंद कर दिया गया और हथियार बंद पुलिसकर्मियों को थाने के ऊपर तैनात कर दिया.

मामला बढ़ता देख पुलिसकर्मी व सेना के जवान आमने-सामने हो गए व एक-दूसरे पर लाठी भांजने लगे. पुलिस व सेना के जवानों के बीच अचानक संघर्ष को देखकर आमलोग हैरान रह गए. पुलिस ने मामला बढ़ता देख सेना के तीन जवानों को हिरासत में लेकर गाड़ियों में बैठ भागकर जान बचाई. घटना की जानकारी मिलते ही सेना के अधिकारी पुलिस थाने पहुंचे व पुलिस अधिकरियों से वार्ता कर मामला शांत करने के लिए बातचीत की.

Orlando Police capture suspected cop killer Markeith Loyd after week-long manhunt

Orlando Police said they have captured the fugitive accused of killing his pregnant girlfriend and the sergeant shot while attempting to bring him into custody.

“We’ve got him!,” the department’s Twitter page posted Tuesday, more than a week after Markeith Loyd allegedly killed Sgt. Debra Clayton at a local Walmart.

Someone had told Clayton that a fellow shopper matched the description of Loyd, who had already been on the run for weeks after the death of his girlfriend Sade Dixon in December.

Police said that the fugitive opened fire after being confronted in the parking lot by the officer, who died at a local hospital.

Terrorists attack Army unit in Nagrota near Jammu

Fierce gunbattle broke out between security forces and terrorists after they opened fire on an Army camp in Nagrota area of Jammu district. 

Security forces on Tuesday foiled an infiltration bid by a group of militants who tried to sneak in from Pakistan through the international border in Jammu, officials said. A police officer said "heavy firing exchange" was on between the militants and the troopers of the Border Security Force in the Ramgarh sector of Jammu.

300 people evacuated from Korean Air plane at Tokyo airport

About 300 passengers and crew members were evacuated from a Korean Air Boeing 777 at Tokyo’s Haneda airport after one of the engines caught fire, officials said today.

TV footage from the airport showed the plane, which was bound for South Korea’s Gimpo International, surrounded by red fire trucks and with the area around its left wing doused in foam. The plane’s inflatable emergency evacuation slides had all been deployed.

“The flight (Boeing 777) had a fire on Engine No.1,” a Korean Air spokesman told AFP.

“The plane bound to Kimpo (Gimpo) Airport from Haneda had 302 passengers and 17 crew members on board. (The) fire was apparently put out.”

Smoke was seen coming from the plane as it was about to take off at around 00:40 pm (0910 IST), officials of the Japanese transportation ministry and the airport told AFP.

Passengers and crew were evacuated and there were no reported injuries, NHK and Jiji Press said, citing police and fire department sources.
